Here’s your chance to write an animation script!
The “Okay Rodney” sequence is an amusing way to look at jargon. The idea is loosely based on stand-up comedy. It is a flight of nonsense around misuse of words, with a few home truths occasionally thrown in. I have revised and improved the last one that I did here:
Then, I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if other people could provide the text?”.
It is all based around simple animation and text-to-voice renderings. So, here’s the script:
01a For my class project, I want to talk about the Cloud
02b Okay Rodney
03a The Cloud is very big and has lots of computers in it. You talk to the cloud with your mobile apps
04b That’s right
05a The mobile apps liv in the rain forest and hide in the ubiquitous tropical miasma of the upper branches
05b No, those are apes. Apps are software.
06a The mobile apps put on the software to cover their bottoms, and they drop googles and apples on the ground. And then…The big daddy apps try to get into the cloud, but the mobile apps just throw down more googles and apples
07b There are no big daddy apps, and apps are not apes.
08a They just throw down googles, and sometimes, some apples. And it gets hot and very smelly, and then they need to use their security umbrellas.
09b You can’t just make up things like that, Rodney
10a And then the teachairr climbs into the cloud and tells the mobile apps to be quiet and stop throwing things because the cloud is for every one
The script rules are that it should be really brief, no more than 10 bits, numbered sequentially. Bits marked ‘a’ (01a) are Rodney, bits marked ‘b’ (02b) are teacher. The first two lines are always the same (although what he’s talking about will differ, of course). Note that some words are changed for better pronunciation by the text to speech program.
Anyway, drop your script in the comments or send an email. If it looks workable, I’ll Rodney it, and post it here with your name. Comedy is for everyone.
